Five Week Credit Program

writing in a classroom

In accordance with the COVID-19 vaccination policy at Western University, all participants of in-person programming in Trois-Pistoles will be required to demonstrate proof of vaccination, unless granted a rare exemption by Western.

The Five Week Credit Program is returning to IN-PERSON learning in SUMMER 2022.

French immersion and the town of Trois-Pistoles are made for each other. At the French Immersion School, we emphasize an integrated approach to learning. All elements of the program - the courses, the workshops, the homestay and the social and cultural activities - reinforce one another and maximize opportunities for you to hear and speak French and to enrich your cultural experience.

  • Earn a full-year university credit from Western University
  • Improve your vocabulary and pronunciation
  • Practice your speaking skills with other students at the same level of French
  • Explore and enjoy the culture of Quebec
  • Make lasting memories while experiencing something totally unique

 * If you would prefer an online immersion experience, please see our spring session.

The Explore Program offers bursaries to students (18+) who wish to learn French. This funding covers most program costs: tuition, accommodation and meals, workshops and sociocultural activities. The registration fee ($275), which is only required if you receive and accept the bursary, as well as any travel costs, are the responsibility of the student; however, there may be additional funding opportunities for Explore applicants from Ontario who demonstrate financial need. Please contact us at for more details.

Western University offers bursaries to prospective participants of our Five Week Credit Program who are not eligible for Explore funding but demonstrate financial need. Please contact us at for details and an application form.

Take one full course or two half courses (75 hours) to earn a full-year university credit.
